Certified Innovation Professional (CInP)® FAQs

Achieving GInI certification is a significant accomplishment that demonstrates your expertise and commitment to innovation. If you're wondering how to become a GInI Certified professional, read on for the simple steps to earn your certification.

Step 1: Exam Preparation:

To begin your journey toward GInI certification, you should first prepare for the certification exam. GInI offers a range of valuable resources to help you get ready for the exam. Take advantage of these materials to ensure you're well-prepared.

Step 2: Take the Proctored Exam:

The cornerstone of GInI certification is the proctored exam. You must earn a passing score on this exam to become GInI Certified. The exam is designed to assess your knowledge and understanding of innovation principles, practices, and methodologies.

Step 3: Receive Your Certification:

Once you've successfully passed the GInI certification exam, you're on your way to becoming a GInI Certified professional. Within a short period of time, typically within four business days, you will receive your official certification credentials.

These credentials will serve as tangible proof of your achievement and can be used to showcase your expertise to employers, colleagues, and clients.

Congratulations on earning your GInI certification! Now, you might be wondering how long your certification will remain valid. At GInI, we value continuous learning and innovation. To ensure your certification reflects the latest trends and knowledge, recertification is required every three years.

Selecting the ideal GInI certification can be a pivotal decision in your professional journey. But how do you know which one aligns best with your current career and aspirations? We've got a solution: the GInI Certification Guidance Assessment.

Self-Assessment:

To begin, consider your background, experience, and career goals. Reflect on your areas of expertise and the specific aspects of innovation that intrigue you the most.

At GInI, we offer a diverse range of certifications to cater to professionals at different stages of their careers and with varying areas of expertise. Each certification is designed to recognize and validate specific skillsets and knowledge within the field of innovation. To help you choose the right certification for your goals, let's explore the key differences between them.

1. Certified Innovation Professional (CInP):

Review the detailed certification descriptions and exam guides on our website to understand each certification's focus.

Curious about GInI's retake policy? Here's what you need to know:

Retake Attempts:

There's no limit on the number of exam attempts you can make. However, each attempt requires payment of the registration fee.

Waiting Period:

Once you pass an exam, you must wait for two years before retaking the same exam. This waiting period applies to the identical exam version.

Updated Exams:

If an exam is updated with a new guide and series code, you can attempt the new version without waiting for the two-year period.

At GInI, we understand that every learner is unique, and while some individuals prefer structured training courses, others thrive through self-study. We offer flexibility in your certification journey, allowing candidates to self-study for most GInI exams.

Self-Study Eligibility:

For most GInI certifications, candidates are indeed allowed to pursue self-study independently without the requirement to attend an accredited training course. This approach empowers individuals to tailor their study methods to their preferences and schedules.

The Exception: Authorized Innovation Assessor (AInA)® Exam:

The Authorized Innovation Assessor (AInA)® certification is a unique case within our certification offerings. To maintain the highest standards of competence for this certification, GInI requires candidates to complete a mandatory 24 hours of education specifically related to the AInA certification. This education must be provided by a GInI Authorized Provider and delivered by a GInI Master Assessor.

Getting Started with Self-Study:

If you're considering self-study, here's a simple guide to get started:

  1. Choose Your Certification: Visit our "Professional Certification" page to explore the various certifications GInI offers. Select the one that aligns with your career goals and interests.
  2. Access Study Materials: GInI provides recommended study materials and exam guides for each certification. These resources will be your primary tools for self-study.
  3. Create a Study Plan: Develop a study plan that outlines your study schedule, goals, and milestones. This will help you stay organized and motivated. Practice, Practice, Practice: Utilize practice exams and sample questions to assess your knowledge and readiness for the actual exam.
  4. Register for the Exam: Once you feel confident in your preparation, visit the GInI online store to register for the exam of your choice.
